school policies

Payment is due in full, before the first of each month. Your prepayment is designed to reserve your day and time with a specific instructor.

This payment is your commitment to the school and your specific instructor, to always try to attend your lesson and avoid scheduling other events that would conflict with the scheduled lesson  unless absolutely necessary.

missed lessons

If you are unable to attend your lesson, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice otherwise the lesson is forfeited.

If proper notice is given, a make-up lesson is allowed within 30 days if there is an available time slot.

missed classes

Missed group classes do not carry a make-up or credit. If you are unable to attend a class, that session will be forfeited. Please be mindful of your schedule when registering for a group class.

Out of respect for the teacher and other students,

if the student is ill please do not have them attend their lesson.

If the student is visibly ill, we reserve the right to immediately cancel the lesson without a make-up.

Parents agree to be silent observers in order to facilitate a functional learning environment.

The teacher reserves the right to end the lesson (with no make-up lesson or refund) if a student or parent is acting inappropriately or disrespectfully.

discontinuing lessons

We require 30 days notice for any students wishing to discontinue lessons. If  notice is not given, you are expected to pay for the following month.

If you stop lessons mid month you will not receive credit for any lessons not taken.

For the safety of the students and instructors, it is imperative that you inform Thurmond Music, LLC of any physical limitations that could impair the instructor's ability to teach or your/student's ability to learn.

instructor absence

If your instructor is unable to attend a lesson,

we will make up the lesson or provide you with a suitable highly qualified substitute.

If you are late to a lesson/class, you will be charged for the entire lesson even if the lesson was shorter than normally scheduled. If the instructor is able to accommodate the full lesson without interrupting the schedule/lesson of other students they can choose to do so.

Thurmond Music, LLC is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items. Please be mindful of your personal belongings and do not leave them unattended. We will keep items found for a period of 30 days for the courtesy of our clients.

There is no registration fee at this time.

Thurmond Music will be closed the following holidays: New Years Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. If your lesson falls on a holiday, please see the front desk about rescheduling your lesson.
